Can i get my money back from the website designer?

I am starting a small company and i found a website designer to build a site for me so i could sell online. He said he was going to do it in 1 day but its been more than 2 wks now and the site he has made is not even close to being complete. I paid him $350, how can i get my money back? There was no legal contract….what can i say to scare him that he will be willing to give me my money back or at least some of it….

I’m sorry to say but there is no way you can get that money back, you can try to sue if you know his name and contact details but it was kind of your fault for not having a contract and then just giving a guy $350 before he did any work you got scammed.
